Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant

 

Integrated Design Engineers (idE) was hired by Hensel Phelps Construction to enhance the Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant through innovative value engineering and a comprehensive redesign. The facility Plays a critical role in the Kaneohe-Kailua Wastewater Conveyance and Treatment Project in Hawaii.

The pump station extends approximately 80 feet below ground, with office and control rooms rising to 48 feet above ground. This unique design facilitates efficient operation and management of wastewater processes. IdE reimagined the above ground structure using precast walls, columns, beams, and floor units, streamlining construction and significantly reducing labor and time requirements. 

Our team also Designed both temporary and permanent connections for essential mechanical equipment and piping, alongside self-supporting racks, platforms, and crane runways to ensure seamless operation and maintenance.
