Integrated Design Engineers presented with the AISC-IDEAS2 National Award for the North Transfer Station
The engineers at IDE recently celebrated with the North Transfer Station project team when AISC presented the 2018 IDEAS2 National Award. In addition to receiving great looking award hardware, the group was treated to glowing comments from the IDEAS2 judges, including:
“This project raises the profile of a local transfer station from a necessary evil in a neighborhood to an attractive addition that fulfills a necessary, green function.”
- John Cross, American Institute of Steel Construction, Chicago
“Dump shelters are a tough building type, but the designers and owner teased a fabulous project out of the program, hitting on all cylinders. Accentuating the major trusses with a linear skylight is a wonderful, dynamic way to celebrate the building’s structural backbone.”
- Grant Gustafson, AIA, NBBJ Architects, Seattle
“This project exemplifies what a public works project can be.”
- Brian Falconer, SE, PE, Severud Associates Consulting Engineers, New York
